Privacy Policy

Last updated October 2, 2026

In short: SpeechZen works entirely on your phone. It listens through your microphone only while you have it switched on, and it never records, stores or sends what it hears. We don't collect personal information, and there are no ads or tracking.

Who we are

SpeechZen is an Android app developed by DreamCircuit Labs ("we", "us").

Microphone audio

SpeechZen needs your microphone to do its job: it cleans up the sound around you and plays it back, slowed down when people talk fast. That audio is processed in real time on your phone and discarded immediately. It is never recorded, saved to storage, or sent over the internet, and we never have access to it.

SpeechZen only uses the microphone while listening is switched on. When it keeps listening in the background, Android shows an "SpeechZen is listening" notification so you always know, and you can stop it from there.

Voice questions to the helper

If you tap the microphone in the built-in helper to ask a question by voice, your phone's own speech recognition service (for example, Google's) turns your speech into text. That service is provided by your phone, not by us, and its handling of your voice is covered by its own privacy policy. SpeechZen only receives the resulting text, uses it to answer you on your phone, and doesn't keep it. Typing your question avoids this entirely.

Information we collect

None. SpeechZen has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Your settings (such as volume or slowdown strength) are saved only on your phone so they're there next time, and they're deleted if you uninstall the app.

Permissions

Children

SpeechZen doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update it on this page and change the date above.
